The Ghorepani trek is a colourful, short foray into Nepal’s most popular trekking area – the Annapurna region. The trail winds through patchwork valleys, dense mossy forests and past icy waterfalls. You will be rewarded with close-up views of the giant Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massifs throughout the trek. Take time to also get to know the local cultures like Gurung, Thakaliand Magar.

We will also go on a short but exciting white water rafting trip down the Trisuli river.

Day 01 / Singapore – Kathmandu 1,360m
Arrive in Kathmandu city and transfer to our hotel in Thamel, the heart of Kathmandu city. The rest of the afternoon is free for taking in the sights and sounds of this unique and bustling ancient-city. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Nepali meal accompanied by traditional Newari music. (-/-/D)

Day 02 / Kathmandu
In the morning we explore Kathmandu on an organised sightseeing tour. We visit Bodhnath Stupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world, where we observe Buddhist monks in prayer in the monasteries surrounding the stupa. We also visit Pashupatinath, the most famous Hindu temple in the country, located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River. Here we see Hindu holy men (sadhus) meditating, pilgrims bathing and occasionally funeral pyres burning on the ghats.
The afternoon is free for own sightseeing and exploration. (B/-/-)

Day 03 / Kathmandu – Rafting Trishuli – Pokhara 960m
After breakfast, we will be set off for our white water rafting adventure down the Trishuli River. The trip starts off at a leisurely pace, giving you ample time to familiarise yourself on rafting techniques and build up teamwork. Six rapids await you along the river, building up in crescendo from “butterfly” to the big water of “pinball”, guaranted to send thrills down your spine! Ending at the village of Kurintar or Mugling & transferred to Pokhara for the night. (B/L/D)

Day 04 / Pokhara – Birethanti – Tikhedhunga 1,577m (2-hour drive, 5-hour trek)
After waking up to a beautiful sunrise, we drive to the riverside town of Birethanti and begin our trek. We head upriver and pass a picturesque waterfall with a cool pool on the Bhurungdi Khola. (B/L/D)

Day 05 / Tikhedhunga – Ulleri 2,070m (4 to 5-hour trek)
Today we face a steep climb of 3,767 steps to the Magar village of Ulleri! (B/L/D)

Day 06 / Ulleri – Ghorepani 2,850m (4-hour trek)
The trail continues ascending steadily, enters lush oak forest and crosses numerous small streams. It is a great place for bird-watching. In the early afternoon we arrive in the town of Ghorepani, which means “horse water”. (B/L/D)

Day 07 / Ghorepani – Tadapani 2,670m (6-hour trek)
A short climb in the morning to the Deurali pass rewards us with a spectacular panorama of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges, and all the way south to the plains of India. The trail then descends steeply through dense, moss-covered forest that is teeming with bird life. We arrive in Tadapani in time for a beautiful sunset view over the Annapurna and Machapuchare. Day 08 / Tadapani – Ghandrung 1,950m (3-hour trek)
(1940m) Trail descends steeply through dense damp forest, where you may see monkeys, and continues down over a series of rock-cut steps that follow a leaping stream. Arrive in Ghandrung and explore the maze-like streets of this thriving Gurung settlement.(B/L/D)

Day 09 / Ghandrung – Birethanti – Pokhara (4-hour trek, 2-hour drive)
We descend gently past startling, green, cultivated terraces along the scurrying Modi Khola, which defines the trail back to Birethanti. We drive to Pokhara and check-in our hotel. (B/L/D)

Day 10 / Pokhara – Kathmandu
Today we make our way by bus back to the bustling city of Kathmandu. Alternately we can fly; airfare is USD $110 per person. (B/-/-)

Day 11 / Kathmandu
Free day to explore this ancient capital with its many bazaars and living monuments. We can catch a early morning mountain flight to see the eastern Himalayan ranges, or float above the Kathmandu Valley in a hot-air balloon. (B/-/-)

Day 12 / Kathmandu – Singapore
The day is free until our transfer to the airport for our homebound flight. (B/-/-)
