Day 01 / Singapore – Surabaya – Cemoro Lawang
Arrive Surabaya, meet/greet with local guide and transfer to the small village of Cemoro Lawang in the Tengger region. The journey takes approximately 3½ hours, with possible stops en route to a leather-producing town and an Indonesian restaurant famous for its lamb satay. Check-in at Lava View Lodge, a unique lodge located on the rim of the Mt. Tengger crater with a superb views of Mt. Bromo, Mt. Batok and Mt. Kursi. If time permits, we take a walk through the countryside or go horseback riding (own expense) in the area.
Overnight in Lava View Lodge.

Day 02 / Cemoro Lawang – Bromo – Ijen (B/-/-)
We rise early to transfer to Mt. Pananjakan (2,750m) by 4WD. At this famous view-point located on rim of the Tengger caldera we watch the sunrise breaking over the volcano cones, including Mt. Bromo and an active Mt. Semeru in the background. The views are breathtaking. We continue acoss the sand sea to the active Mt. Bromo volcano and climb the 245 steps to visit the crater (2,500m). The 4WD will bring us back to the lodge for breakfast. At 9am we drive through scenic landscapes until we reach Ijen plateau where we spend the night in the middle of caldera and world’s famous coffee plantation in a comfortable and charming home-stay called “Arabica or Catimoer” (build by the Dutch colonialist as the headquarters of the coffee plantation).

Day 03 / Ijen Lake – Malang (B/-/-)
Again we rise early for our Mt. Ijen (2,400m) excursion. This volcano offers a savannah landscape, ruggedly beautiful panoramas, grand hiking, and a placid, brightly yellow crater-lake. Near the summit of Mt. Ijen is a gorgeous crater filled with haunting turquoise-blue lake with its surface streaked in the wind blown patterns of yellow sulfur vapor. By the crater lake edge, there is foul-smelling sulfur where local people digging and carrying 60-70 kgs on their bare shoulders for a 2-mile ascent and descent of the steep Mt. Ijen slopes. Return to our car then drive to Malang.

Day 04 / Malang – Surabaya – Singapore (B/-/-)
Breakfast at hotel then city sightseeing featuring city hall and the adjacent bird/flower market, town square, Pasar Besar, Eng Ang Kiong Chinese Temple, colonial architecture along Ijen boulevard and fine ceramic pottery at Dinoyo and Batu resort with its vast apple and flower gardens. Transfer to Surabaya airport for departure flight.

Minor programme changes are sometimes necessary, depending on confirmed flight schedules, road conditions, weather and availability of accommodation.

Mount Bromo

Mount Bromo scenery is the main tourist attration in Pasuruan Regency and East Java. From Penanjakan visitors can see beautiful scenery of Mount Bromo. Batok and Semeru in behind the mountains famous sand sea and we can witness the spectacular sunrises.

Kawah Ijen (Ijen Crater)

Kawah Ijen is the world’s largest highly acidic lake and is the site of a labor-intensive sulfur mining operation in which sulfur-laden baskets are hand-carried from the crater floor. Coffee plantations cover much of the Ijen caldera floor, and tourists are drawn to its waterfalls, hot springs, and dramatic volcanic scenery.
