Itinerary

Day 01 / Fri, Jun 28 / Arrive Kuching
Meet and greet upon arrival at Kuching International Airport and transfer to your Hotel for check-in.
Rest and relax at the Hotel OR, depending on your time of arrival in Kuching, head straight for the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) Concert at the Sarawak Cultural Village.

Day 02 / Sat, Jun 29 / Kuching + RWMF 2013
The morning is free and easy at your own leisure.
In the afternoon catch the return bus shuttle to the Sarawak Cultural Village for the Rainforest World Music Festival 2011. At the festival site, there are plenty of local and international cuisines on sale. At 19:00 hours, let your hair down at the RWMF Concert.

Day 03 / Sun, Jun 30 / Kuching + RWMF 2013
The day is free and easy at your own leisure.
In the afternoon catch the return bus shuttle to the Sarawak Cultural Village for the Rainforest World Music Festival 2011.

The morning is at your own leisure until your transfer to the airport for your departure flight for Singapore.

Semenggoh Orangutan & Land Dayak Longhouse Tour with lunch

Depart for Semengoh Wildlife Centre located a short drive from the centre of Kuching. Observe the feeding of orangutans requiring rehabilitation. Continue your journey by coach (about 30 minutes) to Anah Rais, located in the heart of the Padawan District. Explore this peaceful Bidayuh village and learn about the culture of the Land Dayaks who were once headhunters. Visit the baruk (headhouse) where skulls can be seen. Return to your hotel after lunch.


The Amazing Rafflesia with lunch

@ SGD $196 per person

Pick up from city hotel in Kuching, head for Gunung Gading National Park (2 hours), home to the world’s largest flower, the Rafflesia. En route, view exotic orchids and pitcher plants, and visit a pepper farm. Upon arrival at the park, proceed for an hour of jungle trekking along the plank walk in search of a Rafflesia. See the host vines, the cabbage-like Rafflesia buds that litter the forest floor, and if you are lucky a Rafflesia in full bloom. Relax or swim at a picnic spot by a beautiful jungle stream or alternatively drive 15 minutes to Pandan Beach to relax and have a swim. Return to Kuching late afternoon.

*Please note that the Rafflesia Flower only blooms occasionally.


Bako National Park Daytrip with lunch

Pickup from hotel and drive about 35 minutes to Bako Village. From the village, take a 25-minute boat ride (depending on the tide) to the park situated on a peninsula. Bako is one of the best places in Sarawak to see wildlife in a natural setting. The various types of animals that are commonly spotted at Bako include the proboscis monkeys, silver leaf monkeys, long-tailed macaques, wild boars, monitor lizards and numerous species of birds. Forest types range from mangrove to kerangas (heath forest), tropical swamp vegetation, cliff vegetation and beach vegetation. There are several trails to follow inside the park depending on level of fitness and interest. The park’s coastline is dotted with small bays, coves and beaches. Return to Kuching mid-afternoon. Please note schedule may depend on tide.

Programme
With a line-up of 18 international bands and 2 Malaysian bands playing a diverse range of world genres, the festival is featuring 7 different acts per night over 3 nights.

Workshops
Its formula of afternoon informative workshops, ethno-musical lectures, jamming sessions and mini concerts, followed by evening performances on the main stage has proven to be a hit, with the audience, who come from near and far.

Food & Village Mart
The Food & Village Mart is filled with local crafts, souvenir items and international food and drinks. More than 30 stalls with an array of crafts, souvenirs and food and beverage within the region.

RWMF Store
The RWMf store is filled with RWMF merchandize. Grab yourself a souvenir t-shirt or your favourite artist CD – you can even get it signed if you want by them at the CD signings that are scheduled.
