This is an exceptional immersion into the wonders of Morocco with desert overnights in rustic nomad camps, travelling on track roads through sand dunes and lunar stone landscapes, and visits to both the Todgha Gorges, with its vertical mountain walls of up to 300 metres and the Dades Gorges with its spectacular rock formations. Itinerary
Day 01 / Arrive Casablanca
Arrive in Casablanca at any time.
Day 02 / Ouarzazate - Tazzarine (B,D)
Depart for the Great South over the splendid High Atlas mountains, through the Tizi n’Tichka pass. We visit the Anti Atlas filled with fantastic rock formations, and spend the night in an authentic Nomand camp. Take an optional visit to the film studios if no production is under way.
Day 03 / Lamharche (B,L,D)
Travel back in time to the 18th century in the old village of Tazzarine. An exciting journey by track roads takes us into the wild beauty of the Lamharche desert.
Day 04 / Merzouga (B,L,D)
Crossing the desert landscape, we travel to the Erg Chebbi desert and visit Morocco’s highest sand dunes in Merzouga. Explore the seemingly endless dunes before a camel ride to our camp.
Day 05 / Erfoud - Tineghir - Todgha Gorges (B)
Depart by camel to Merzouga, where we make our way to Tineghir via Erfoud’s stark stone desert. Take the time to explore the vast palm groves of Tineghir and the magnificent Gorges of Todgah.
Day 06 / Dades Gorges - Ouazazate - Ait Ben Haddou (B)
Escape to the splendid Gorges of Dades and continue along the “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs” in the verdant Dades Valley. Visit the village of Ait Ben Haddou via Ouazazate, with its famous Kasbah, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site for its innumerable film productions.
Day 07 / Marrakech (B,D)
Making our way over the Tizi n’Tichka pass to Marrakech, we discover all that this fascinating city has to offer. Be sure to visit the Souks and the famous Jemaa El Fna Square.
