This tour offers a fun-filled journey around cultural heritages and historical places of Lhasa. Two blissful days are packaged in our trip for exploring the charismatic wonders of Lhasa.

Lhasa, most popularly known as ‘Sunlight City’, is regarded as the heart and soul of Tibet and hence is the number one tourist destination in Tibet. Visits to white and ochre fortress of Potala Palace and Jokhang temple can be quite a spiritually rejuvenating experience.

Potala Palace is a UNESCO world heritage and features an overwhelming array of intricate murals, temples, stupas, tombs of eight past Dalai Lamas, exquisite Tibetan Mandalas and other relics of Tibetan history.

Jokhang Temple lying 2 km to the east is another Tibetan religious site.

If we wish to glimpse into Tibetan culture, what could be more insightful than exploring Barkhor markets! As we wander around the markets, we witness Tibetan arts, culture, custom and tradition. With so much to see and explore in Lhasa, this will truly be an unforgettable experience!

Itinerary

Day 01 / Singapore – Chengdu
Meet and greet on arrival in Chengdu, the provincial capital of Sichuan. We visit Wuhou (Marquis Wu) Temple dedicated to Zhuge Liang, Prime Minister of the state of Shu during the Three Kingdoms period. We also visit Du Fu’s thatched cottage, which used to be the modest house where the world-famous Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu lived for several years. Traditional Sichuan Dinner. (-/-/D)

Day 02 / Arrive Lhasa (3660m)
We will be met at Gonggar Airport by our Tibetan guide. After immigration formalities take a 1.5-hour drive along 93 km road leading to Lhasa lying at an altitude of 3650m. It’s advisable to rest and take it easy for the remainder of the day owing to Lhasa’s high altitude. (B/-/-)

Day 03 / Sightseeing in Lhasa
After breakfast, we go for our sightseeing tour. Our experienced guide accompanies us to the famous monasteries of Tibet. On our awe-inspiring visit to Sera Monastery, we are introduced to the important aspects of Buddhism. After lunch, we once again continue exploring Tibetan ancient cultures and civilizations as we pay a visit to Norbulingka, the summer palace of the Dalai Lama. Jokhang temple provides yet another exciting and educative tour. Wandering around Barkor Markets is another major highlight of the day. (B/-/-)

Day 04 / Sightseeing in Lhasa
On this day we get more acquainted with the mystiques of Lhasa. In the morning after breakfast, we will set off to view majestic Potala Palace towering above city of Lhasa. We get to witness unique, pristine and overwhelming array of intricate Tibetan murals, temples, stupas, and tombs of eight past Dalai Lamas from a perfect vantage point. Ancient Tibetan cultures come alive with our every exploration. Later in the noon after lunch, we will visit beautifully landscaped Drepung Monastery. We can observe nuns and monks chanting and performing religious discourses. (B/-/-)

Day 05 / Lhasa – Chengdu – Singapore
After breakfast we transfer to the airport for our flight to Chengdu to connect our departure flight for Singapore. (B/-/-)
