This short stay in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) is an excellent introduction to what this bustling city has to offer. We get acquainted with the city sights before heading out to Cu Chi where the amazing network of underground tunnels containing innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage and weapons facilities, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens will astound you.

Finally we spend a morning with a local celebrity who will guide us through the local market picking out fresh local ingredients for a unforgettable cooking lesson in Vietnamese cuisine.

Day 01 / Arrive Saigon
Arrive at Tan Son Nhat Airport, meet and transfer to our hotel. The rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight in Saigon.

Day 02 / Cu Chi & Saigon city tour
After breakfast, we leave early for Cu Chi to visit the incredible underground tunnel network built by Vietnamese guerrilla fighters during the long years of war. Opportunity to visit a rice paper making factory. Return to Saigon. Afternoon, city tour of Saigon to visit its historic landmarks including the Old Saigon Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, former Presidential Palace and Cholon, the city’s bustling Chinatown. Overnight in Saigon. (B)

Day 03 / Saigon - Cookery class!
After breakfast around 9 am, a well-known Saigonese chef, Mrs. Cam Van a well-known TV personality and chef will take us to the central colourful market of Ben Thanh to introduce Vietnamese food and raw materials by a walking tour through the market. After marketing for the food, we will be taken to her home in Tan Binh district to have a cooking class of three Vietnamese typical dishes. We enjoy the wonderful demonstration, followed by a lunch that we have cooked. Afternoon is free at leisure for wondering around downtown or shopping. Overnight in Saigon. (BL)

Day 04 / Depart Saigon
The morning is free until our transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for our departure flight. (B)
