4D Sawaddee Bangkok! (Learn to Speak Thai)
The ingredients consist of some hours of learning the Thai language, visiting markets to practice our language skills in real situations, sightseeing of the city, a campus tour with local students, a canal cruise and finally Thai cooking with local family. All these blend smoothly together to make the great taste of ‘Sawaddee Bangkok’!
Day 01 / Arrive Bangkok
Own transfer to Royal or similar hotel. Contact our office for briefing of the tour. Overnight in Bangkok.
Day 02 / Bangkok - Thai Language School and field trip (B/-/-)
Transfer to the Thai Language School for 2 hours of elementary Thai language lessons. After the class we will go on a field trip visiting the Siam Square Shopping Center to practice our Thai bargaining skills with the Thai traders. We travel by public transportation such as Thai motor-tricycle, also called Samlor or Tuk Tuk, BTS Sky Train, taxis, etc. Our guide will only act as an escort to encourage us to interact with Bangkokers as much as possible. Afterwards we visit Jim Thompson’s magnificent Thai-style house which contains an extensive collection of art objects and antiques. A night market walk as an option is also possible.
Return to the hotel.
Day 03 / Bangkok - more Thai language lessons! (B/-/-)
Transfer to the Thai Language School for another 2 hours of conversational Thai language leassons. Then we take the BTS train in connection with public express boat running along Chao Phraya River to Tha Chang market followed by a short walk through the market to Silpakorn University of Arts. We meet with students of the university and have a tour around the campus to observe Thai student life (this activity may not be possible during the examinations). Tuk Tuk ride to visit the lively Pak Klong Talad, a wholesale market where varieties of flowers and vegetables are sold. Then cruise in a long-tailed motorboat and witness the scenic life of people who live along Bangkok’s waterways to Ruan Khun Yai, the home of a Thai family who will offer a Thai herbal drink as a welcoming gesture. Join the host in preparing the ingredients and herbs to cook some Thai dishes for the afternoon snack. After a brief rest and further conversation with our hosts we return to our hotel.
Day 04 / Depart Bangkok (B/-/-)
We can depart anytime after breakfast.
