3D Thai Cooking & Homestay in Bangkok!
Kingdom of Thailand

Ruan Khun Yai in Thai means the “Home of Grand Ma”. It is actually the home of a Thai family located on the bank of a canal in Bangkok’s western suburbs. It is an old wooden Thai house with a cozy balcony overlooking the scenic Chak Phra Canal and can accommodate up to 6 guests. Visitors can enjoy the Thai way of life and at the same time learn the secrets of Thai cooking, with a flexible menu depending on guests’ interests.

Day 01 / Arrive Bangkok

Day 02 / Bangkok - Ruan Khun Yai (B/-/D)
The morning is free at leisure. In the afternoon transfer from our hotel to visit the lively Pak Klong Talad, a wholesale market where varieties of flowers and vegetables are sold. Then cruise in a long-tailed motorboat and witness the scenic life of people who live along Bangkok’s waterways. Upon arrival at Ruan Khun Yai a Thai herbal drink is served as a welcoming to the house. Join the host in shopping at a local market where lots of the ingredients and herbs can be purchased for the cooking lessons of the day. Begin by learning about Thai cooking utensils and start the first cooking lesson with 4 main dishes.

Evening at leisure with the opportunity to explore the surrounding area in the family’s small boat. After dinner guests can join the family in their routine meditation practice or playing Thai musical instruments.

Day 03 / Ruan Khun Yai - Bangkok (B/-/-)
Early in the morning, join the family in giving alms to Buddhist monks who make their alms round by boat. Learn to cook and eat a simple Thai breakfast. Bid farewell to our kind host before taking an excursion by boat on the canals of Bangkok’s surprisingly rural western suburbs. Enjoy the natural scenery and observe the daily lives of the people who live along the canals. Stop enroute for an opportunity to talk to some of the students attending the temple school or take a leisurely stroll through vegetable and herb gardens. Proceed by boat to an orchid farm for a short visit. After passing by a local market continue to the boat-house where the Royal Barges are kept and maintained. Return to the pier and transfer back to hotel or bus station. Services end with transfer to hotel or railway/bus station (transfer to airport is not included).
