Located near Siem Reap, the Angkor temple complex is comprised of Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Bayon, Banteay Srei and countless other structures built between the 9th and 13th centuries when the Angkor empire was at its peak.
The size, beauty & scope of Angkor are simply breathtaking, as is the sunrise over the temples.
Day 01 / Arrive Siem Reap
Arrive in Siem Reap and transfer to hotel. Siem Reap is the base for exploring the fabled temples of Angkor, the ancient capital of the Khmer empire. On arrival begin a tour of the temples that includes the early-Angkor era temples of the Roluos Group - Preah Ko, Ba Kong and Lo Lei. In the afternoon continue to the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the famous Bayon, the Terrace of Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King. Return to hotel after watching the sun set at Phnom Bakheng. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 02 / Siem Reap
After breakfast spend the morning on an extensive tour of the magnificent 12th century Angkor Wat. In the afternoon continue to Srah Srang, Banteay Kdei, the fabulous Ta Prohm Temple, embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers and the small twin temples of Chau Say Tevoda and Thommanon. Overnight in Siem Reap. (B)
Day 03 / Depart Siem Reap
After breakfast depending on departure flight time choose between a tour of the Big Circuit comprising Pre Rup, East Mebon, Neak Poan and Preah Khan or a visit to the workshops of Artisans d’Angkor to see wood and stone carving or shop for souvenirs or take a boat trip on Tonle Sap Lake (best from July to February) before transferring to Siem Reap Airport for departure flight.
