Amongst the world’s greatest journeys is this - the Karakoram Highway. From Islamabad to the Khunjerab Pass we wind through the valleys and villages of Northern Pakistan. Follow in the tracks of ancient trading caravans to discover tiny villages cut off from modern life, but still offering warm welcomes that defies all expectations. We explore the Hunza Valley and gaze upon glistening glaciers, crossing the world’s highest border before descending to the turquoise lakes and stark deserts of Western China. Along the way we meet the mountain tribes - their faces and hospitality reflecting centuries of tradition and merging cultures.

Itinerary
Day 01 / Arrive in Islamabad and transfer to hotel (Sun)
Day 02 / Explore Islamabad – Shah Faisal Mosque, Daman-e-Kok viewpoint and Rawalpindi Baazar.
Days 03-04 / Begin Karakoram Highway journey, climbing winding valleys to Gilgit.
Day 05 / Gilgit – visit the Kargah Buddha and local baazar. Free time.
Day 06 / Explore Karimabad – Baltit Fort and museum. Village walk.
Day 07 / Hopar-Nagar Valley. Jeep excursion to glacier with sunset views. Stay at Duikar village.
Day 08 / Return on foot through villages to Karimabad. Drive to Gulmit.
Day 09 / Drive to Passu. Optional walk at Borit Lake. Visit suspension bridge and Passu village.
Day 10 / Full day hike on Passu glacier.
Day 11 / Continue to Sost, crossing of Khunjerab Pass (4733m). Stay in yurt camp at Kara-Kul Lake.
Day 12 / Awake to views of Muztagh Ata (7546m) before driving to Kashgar.
Days 13-14 / Explore Kashgar – Old Town, Abakh Hoja’s Tomb and Id Kah Mosque.
Day 15 / Trip ends in Kashgar this morning (Sat)
