Day 01 / Arrive Athens
Arrive in Athens at anytime.
Day 02 / Athens (B)
Named for Athena, goddess of wisdom, this city was an important influence on the development of Western civilization. Bargain your way through the colourful markets, stare in awe at the ancient ruins and don’t forget to try the Ouzo.
Day 03 / Chania, Crete
Soak in the stunning scenery and make friends with the charismatic locals. Avoid the tourists of the coastal regions, as you make your way to the smaller villages of the interior. In this mountainous area, there may be bad roads and cryptic road signs but this is where you will discover the charm of the real Crete.
Day 04 / Samaria Gorge / Agia Roumeli (B,D)
Pull on your hiking boots and descend through an impressive forest into the Samaria Gorge, deep in the White Mountains. Enjoy a well-deserved picnic lunch and follow the winding riverbed to the isolated fishing village of Agia Roumelli. Reward yourself with a cooling swim in the crystal clear waters or just enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and relax on the deserted beach.
Days 5-6 / Loutro (2B,2D)
Catch a ferry to the small picturesque fishing village of Loutro. Accessible only by boat or by foot, this is a place of peace and tranquility. Discover the secluded beaches by kayak, hike in the unspoilt mountain countryside and bask in the glorious Greek sunshine.
Day 07 / Heraklion (B)
Travel back in time as you visit the Ruins of Knosses. Walking through the amazingly well restored ruins is as close as you can get to experiencing the Minoan civilization.
Days 8-9 / Santorini (B)
Spend the days at leisure wandering the winding roads of Fira, relaxing on the miles of pebbled beach or renting a scooter to explore the whole island. End your days with a famed Santorini sunset and a glass of greek wine.
Days 10-11 / Naxos (B)
Explore Naxos by bicycle, bus, scooter, quad bike or buggy. Don’t miss the historical sites, Venetian ruins, a marble quarry, spectacular coastline and of course, the beautiful beaches.
Day 12 / Mykonos / Delos (B)
As Greece’s most famed playground, Mykonos has become one of the top holiday destinations in the world. Enjoy a relaxing day at the white sand beaches, walk the charming white-washed roads or have a quaint dinner at a local taverna. Just a short boat ride away lies Delos, the birthplace of Apollo and home of the Gods.
Day 13 / Athens (B)
Depending on the ferry schedule, leave Mykonos in the morning or evening en route to Athens. Savour a final farewell evening with your new found friends.
